‘Maze Runner The Death Cure’ Drops First Official Trailer
Nothing escapes, nothing lives
As promised yesterday, 20th Century FOX released the first movie trailer for “Maze Runner: The Death Cure”. The trailer has been a long time coming, and fans can get their first look at the new installment below.
If you haven’t been following along, filming on “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure” came to a halt when Dylan O’Brien, the film’s lead actor, was severely hurt on the set. After months of recovery, O’Brien returned to the screen for the recent release of “American Assassin,” which also featured Michael Keaton and Taylor Kitsch. The film is gearing up for the big premiere now, and the project is expected to hit theaters in 2018. This will be the final installment to the series, which has become a YA favorite with fans.
The series is based on the set of novels written by James Dashner (you can find all of Dashner’s work on Amazon).
The original “The Maze Runner” released back in 2014, and opened at number-one at the box-office with an amazing $32.5M debut. The first installment, directed by Wes Ball, went on to make over $81M domestically before grossing $313M worldwide. The sequel was released a year later, with Ball returning to direct. The follow-up also debuted at number-one, bringing in $30M over its opening weekend before reaching $348M worldwide.
In the final installment, the heroes have to save their friends and break into the legendary Last City, which is a WCKD-controlled labyrinth. The studio teased the film stating, “Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze.”
If you need to set a reminder, “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” is scheduled to hit theaters on January 26, 2018. Just like the previous installments, this film will be directed by Wes Ball. The third film was produced by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Lee Stollman, and Wes Ball.
