But no one battles like Thor of course

Marvel had a new “Thor: Ragnarok” trailer waiting for NFL fans this evening. The studio released a brand-new trailer for the highly-anticipated film during the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs game late Thursday night. Of course this isn’t the first trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok,” but we don’t think Marvel fans will mind the surprise.

Not only is Thor battling his ol’ buddy the Hulk in this new installment, he must also save his people from Hela. “Thor: Ragnarok” was directed by Taika Waititi, working from a story written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. The new Thor film will also feature Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jaimie Alexander, Anthony Hopkins, Mark Ruffalo and Tessa Thompson.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has some pretty high box-office numbers to reach if it wants to take crown. The first “Thor” film, which was directed by Kenneth Branagh, made over $181M at the domestic box-office for Marvel. That film then went on to gross over $449M at the worldwide box-office. The first feature was headlined by Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman. The big sequel was called “Thor: The Dark World,” directed by Alan Taylor, and it brought back Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman and featured the lovable Tom Hiddleston. At the box-office “Thor 2” did much better than the original film, grossing over $206M at the domestic box-office before ending its theatrical run with over $644M in the bank. That’s the box-office total to beat to keep the Thor-train running in the right direction, and no one can fill the seats in a theater like Marvel can.

Thor fans can watch the trailer from the game below, thanks to a quick movie trailer upload from Marvel to YouTube.

Fans won’t even have to wait too long to see the new film, “Thor: Ragnarok” is set to release domestically on November 3, 2017. After that, Marvel fans will devour “Black Panther,” “Captain Marvel,” and “Avengers: Infinity War”.
