School is back in session, and there is a very magical school-bus that needs your attention. A whole new generation of viewers will soon learn of the magic bus that offers the best field trips ever, and meet a new teacher that loves science. The series is called “The Magic School Bus Rides Again,” and it’s hitting Netflix later this month.
The show is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 29, 2017, and it’s debuting with a reimagining of its classic theme song sung everyone’s favorite Lin-Manuel Miranda. You can get a sneak peek in the brand new trailer below.
The kids are back at Walkerville School for another school year of astonishing, out-of-this-world field trips in this all-new reimagining of the iconic science-comedy-adventure series The Magic School Bus. This year there’s a new Frizzle in town, voiced by Kate McKinnon, and the character is the younger sister of the famed Professor Frizzle (Lily Tomlin). Netflix debuted the trailer earlier today, along with a new website for the series.
Fans of the original series can rest assured that the new Ms Frizzle shares her sister’s charisma, and love of all things science. Field trips this year will take viewers into the clouds, across the internet, riding the continents – even a plunge into the depths of the Sun itself. Lin-Manuel Miranda has been a busy bee over the past few months, he is currently set to play the role of Jack in Disney’s live-action telling of “Mary Poppins Returns”. That film was directed by Rob Marshall, working off a screenplay written by David Magee. The film is based on the books by P.L. Travers, and will star Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, Meryl Streep as Topsy, and Colin Firth as William Weatherall Wilkins. Disney gave that film a Christmas Day release date in theaters. Other notable castings include Angela Lansbury, Dick Van Dyke, and Julie Walters.
