The CW joins Hulu TV service at long last
CW finally joins Hulu
After a short absence since launch, The CW network will join Hulu’s new live TV service. Hulu announced today that the company has reached a new agreement with The CW Network, a joint venture between CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment, which will bring the network’s hit series to subscribers of the Hulu with Live TV (beta) plan. If you are a member, you will also get local station programming. The addition of The CW Network will bring all of the five US major broadcast networks to Hulu’s live TV streaming service.
“The CW has long attracted younger audiences to live TV, so we are very happy to offer the network through Hulu’s new live service,” said Tim Connolly, Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Distribution.
“The CW is excited to be a part of Hulu’s groundbreaking new live TV service,” said Chris Brooks, Executive Vice President, Network Distribution, The CW. “This new partnership furthers our goal of expanding our audience across digital platforms.”
Subscribers to Hulu’s live service will have live access to The CW’s popular programming, including the new fall series Valor and Dynasty; the new hit series Riverdale and the long-running fan favorite Supernatural; popular DC titles Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and The Flash; and the network’s critically-acclaimed Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Video on demand episodes of The CW’s current season series will be available to Hulu with Live TV subscribers soon.
If you’re new to Hulu TV, the service offers live and on-demand programming from more than 50 popular sports, news, entertainment and kids channels— plus Hulu’s entire premium streaming library with limited commercials— all for just $39.99 per month. This includes 50 hours of Cloud DVR recording storage, up to six individual profiles and two simultaneous streams per account, with options to upgrade to an enhanced Cloud DVR with 200 hours of storage and unlimited in-home concurrent screens. Hulu also offers premium network add-ons HBO, Cinemax and SHOWTIME with live and on-demand access to favorite premium series, films and specials from each network without ever having to leave the Hulu app.
Hulu’s new Live TV (beta) service is available across Internet-connected living room and mobile devices including Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV (4th Gen.), Xbox One, Xbox 360, iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as Chromecast.
