MTV is filling out the call-sheet for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, adding additional performers set to take the stage during the “VMAs”. The event will be airing live from the “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, August 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Logic will perform his hit single “1-800-273-8255” featuring Khalid, and Gucci Mane will take the stage with previously announced Fifth Harmony to perform their song “Down.” Additionally, the show will feature special performances by breakout artists Post Malone and Julia Michaels.

For the 2017 “VMAs,” Logic is nominated for “Best Fight Against the System,” Gucci Mane is nominated with Fifth Harmony for “Best Pop Song,” and Khalid and Julia Michaels are both up for “Best New Artist.” The artists join an extensive performer line-up for the show including previously announced Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Lorde, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Fifth Harmony and the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” winner, P!nk.

Logic hit the music scene after-releasing a series of mixtapes that led to a significant, rabid underground fan base. Khalid’s debut album American Teen is also certified Gold in the U.S and Canada. Khalid also embarked on his first-ever headlining tour in both the U.S. and select European cities where he sold-out every single date before the album was even released.

As for Gucci Mane, the artist made a triumphant return with critically acclaimed “Everybody Looking,” an album which he completed in just six short days. “Everybody Looking” made a chart debut, coming out at #1 on Soundscan/Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart. Gucci Mane will be releasing his new album “Mr. Davis” on September 15th followed by the release of his book titled “The Autobiography of Gucci Mane” on September 19th. Julia Michaels hit the scene back in 2013, co-writing a string of Billboard Hot 100 hits alongside Justin Tranter, including smashes like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Nick Jonas ft. Tove Lo’s “Close,” while most recently, Selena Gomez’s “Bad Liar,” Ed Sheeran’s “Dive,” and John Legend’s “Surefire.” Michaels’ 2017 debut single “Issues” is certified RIAA double platinum stateside, the single crossed worldwide consumption of 5 million in less than six months and became “the best-selling song by a new artist released in 2017” according to Nielsen Music.
