One of our favorite resources for British programming here in the States is Britbox and Acorn TV, and you can now access both streaming-services through Amazon Channels. Starting today, Britbox is offering all of its British TV dramas, comedies, mysteries, documentaries, and more through Amazon Channels for $6.99 per month. You can even test out the service with a 7-day free trial. If you love British TV, you can check out the British TV page on Amazon.com and dive into hours of entertainment.

Available to Amazon Prime members, BritBox features titles including all 26 seasons of the classic “Dr Who” series; “Agatha Christie’s Poirot” featuring adventures of the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot; and the crime dramas “In The Dark” and “The Moorside,” which is a drama about missing Yorkshire schoolgirl Shannon Matthews. Each can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere with no extra apps to download.

Additionally, BritBox offers a large catalog of shows that just aired on BBC and ITV. Customers can now enjoy the latest episodes of “East Enders” or “Coronation Street,” the world’s longest running soap, only hours after the original U.K. broadcast.

In the past we have also talked about Acorn TV, which offers terrific content from the U.K., and that service is available through Amazon Channels as well. Prime members can also enjoy PBS Masterpiece titles, including the complete series of “Downton Abbey,” and “Mercy Street”. Acorn TV is available for $4.99/month, and offers “A Place To Call Home,” “Doc Martin,” “Vera” and many others.

If you’re new to Amazon Channels, the service allows Prime members to watch over 100 on-demand channels with no cable required. You can cancel at anytime, and there are no additional apps to download. Amazon adds video-subscriptions to HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ, PBS KIDS, Acorn TV, A+E Network, AMC, Cinemax and more, plus Anime Strike and Heera. There are also free trials on all subscriptions, and you can have direct access cable network apps, such as the HBO NOW app. Amazon Channels are available in the U.S., UK, Germany and Austria with support for all the devices Prime Video is available on—Fire TV, Fire and other iOS and Android tablets, connected TVs, game consoles, iOS and Android phones, and laptops.
