Disney previewed the upcoming adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time” at the D23 Expo this weekend, and social-media is loving it. The teaser-trailer is the first footage shown from the film, which is based on the popular young-adult novel of the same name. It won’t hit theaters until the Spring of 2018, but you can get an early look at the film thanks to the trailer below.

The film has an outstanding cast, and an outstanding director. Ava DuVernay, the same director behind the award-winning film “Selma,” was announced as the director for “A Wrinkle in Time” back in February of last year. The cast includes Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which, Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, and Chris Pine who is just coming off his appearance in “Wonder Woman”. The entire cast that we mentioned above was present at the D23 Expo to introduce the trailer to fans. Zach Galifianakis and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will also be featured in the adaptation, but were not present for the event. Fans still left pretty excited to see more of the film, which is shaping up to be a stellar sci-fi fantasy.

The film adaptation was put together by Jennifer Lee, who wrote and co-directed “Frozen” with Chris Buck. The original novel was written by Madeleine L’Engle. Fans of the novel can watch the teaser-trailer below.

Disney also made a splash with fans with the films “Wreck-it Ralph 2”; the “Incredibles 2;” “Toy Story 4;” and of course Star Wars. More updates and clips from those films will be released over the next few days.

Fans will have to wait a long time before seeing “A Wrinkle in Time” in theaters. The film will be released on March 9, 2018. That does give you plenty of time to read the original work, which is still a best-seller on Amazon ($5 at Amazon).
