Ridley Scott’s “Alien: Covenant” will hit the home box-office this August, and will be released in several different formats. The horror-thriller is set to release on Digital HD on August 1, and will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD (starting at $14 at Amazon) on August 15, 2017. In the film the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an unchartered paradise. What they actually found is a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a terrifying threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Featuring an all-star cast including Academy Award Nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men franchise, Steve Jobs), Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Billy Crudup (Jackie), Danny McBride (This Is The End) and Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), “Alien: Covenant” will come fully loaded with bonus materials including a making-of documentary, deleted and extended scenes, commentary by director Ridley Scott, an inside look at “David’s Lab,” crew fear tests, and more.

Fans can also pick up special “exclusive editions” of the film at Walmart, Target and Best Buy. The Walmart version will offer Alien Day fan-art t-shirts if you grab the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats. If you shop at Target you can get a special 36-page book packaging, which features an inside look at David’s Lab and the creatures of “Alien: Covenant”. Also included are behind-the-scenes photography and concept sketches. Those come with the Blu-ray format of the film. Best Buy shoppers can get an Alien baby Xenomorph steelbook, but only if you buy the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats.

“Alien: Covenant” opened at number-one on the domestic charts back in May. The film had a $36M opening debut, taking on the films “Everything, Everything,” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul”. The film went on to make over $73.7M domestically, and over $231M worldwide.
