Earlier today Maria Menounos and E! announced that the long-time anchor will step down as Co-Anchor of “E! News,” it is a position she’s held since 2015 after joining the network in 2014. Menounos also released a statement to fans.
“Our thoughts and support go out to Maria and her family and we wish them all the best knowing that Maria will tackle this with the same fierce dedication she is known for,” said Adam Stotsky, President, E! Entertainment. “We are grateful for Maria’s many contributions to E! over the past three years.”
“I am so grateful for the past three years at E!, I had such an amazing time co-hosting with Jason Kennedy and working everyday with the wonderful roster of talent on the show including producers, staff and crew,” said Maria Menounos. “It was such a special, good-hearted group and one I’ll always consider family. A special thank you to Frances Berwick and Adam Stotsky for all the support they have shown me through the years especially during these tough times. I will truly miss everyone and looking forward to this next chapter in my life.”
The network also stated that the “E! News’” team “will continue to include a diverse stable of hosts, entertainment journalists and correspondents across platforms.” E! News’ programming slate includes one of the first fully produced weekly shows for Snapchat with “The Rundown,” which expanded to twice weekly after early success on the platform, one of the first professional studio-based productions created exclusively for Facebook Live with “Live From E!,” as well as popular interactive weekly Facebook Live shows “freeSTYLE” and “So True, So False,” in addition to the nightly show on the network and new live daytime series, “Daily Pop.” More information concerning Menounos and the E! News production schedule will most likely be announced over the next few weeks.
