Blake Lively (The Shallows, The Age of Adeline) is bringing her new project to CBS Films, the studio announced today that the actor will executive produce and star in the theatrical motion picture adaptation of “The Husband’s Secret”. Based on the acclaimed bestselling novel ($15 at Amazon) by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) the adaptation is being produced by Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano via their Depth of Field production shingle along with Lively.
“Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation,” commented Terry Press, President, CBS Films. Lively will play Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a busy wife, mother and chronic perfectionist who inadvertently discovers that her husband has been keeping a secret from her for years…a secret that leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder.

WME, Justin Grey Stone at Management 360 and attorney Jeff Bernstein at Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein represent Blake Lively. Jerry Kalajian of Intellectual Property Group, Fiona Inglis Curtis Brown Australia and Faye Bender represent Moriarty. Mark Ross and Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.
Lively’s 2016 horror-thriller “The Shallows” was a moderate hit for Sony Picture last year. The shark-thriller opened at number-four and went on to gross $55M domestically and $119M worldwide. Lively also starred in Woody Allen’s “Cafe Society” in 2016, she was joined on-screen by Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart and Steve Carell. Lively is also set to star in “All I See is You” with director Marc Forster, working from a script that Forster write with Sean Conway. That project also stars Yvonne Strahovski and Danny Huston.
