While the local box-office won’t be booming with new releases, the home box-office will have quite a few choices to keep you busy this week. On TV you will have to avoid season-finale spoilers for over a dozen series, while video-games releases take a small break.

Your movie-choices at the box-office will be very limited this week, unless you want to watch something that you missed. The film-adaptation of “Baywatch” scared away the competition in theaters, and the comedy is the only major-release heading your way. “Baywatch was directed by Seth Gordon. The comedy stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, and Kelly Rohrbach.

If you rather stay in this week, look for “Get Out” on Blu-ray (Amazon for $19) and “Logan” on Blu-ray (Amazon for $19). Also releasing on Blu-ray this week are “The Great Wall,” the highly-praised horror-thriller “xx” (Amazon for just $15) and the award-winning animation “My Life as a Zucchini“.

Netflix, Amazon and Hulu

Netflix has several major releases this week, and it will be the streaming-choice this weekend. Netflix will release Brad Pitt’s latest project ‘War Machine’ on May 26th. Writer-director David Michôd (Animal Kingdom) recreates a U.S. General’s roller-coaster rise and fall as part reality, part savage parody – raising the specter of just where the line between them lies today. The Netflix original film is inspired by the book The Operators: The Wild & Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan by the late journalist Michael Hastings. Joining Pitt in War Machine is a highly decorated cast including Emory Cohen, RJ Cyler, Topher Grace, Anthony Michael Hall, Anthony Hayes, John Magaro, Scoot McNairy, Will Poulter, Alan Ruck, Lakeith Stanfield, Josh Stewart, Meg Tilly, Tilda Swinton and Sir Ben Kingsley. Also releasing on Netflix is Hasan Minhaj’s stand-up special, which will become available on the 23rd. You will most likely know Minhaj from his amazing work on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”. The documentary ‘Joshua: Teenager vs. Superpower’ will become available on May 26th, and ‘Bloodline Season 3’ is slated to hit Netflix this Thursday.

Hulu has the season premiere of ‘Casual’ this week on Monday, but not much else. On Amazon Prime you’ll find “Moonlight,” “Dino Dana Season 1,” “Boardwalk Empire Season 5,” and “Poldark Season 2” this week.
