A24 released the first trailer for “Woodshock” today, and it’s a trip. The film was written and directed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, and is expected to hit theaters later this year. This might be a film that you will want to catch while it is still on the big-screen, so keep it on your radar as we head into the fall-release schedule.

“Woodshock” stars Kirsten Dunst, and A24 describes the film as “a hypnotic exploration of isolation, paranoia, and grief that exists in a dream-world all its own”. In the film Kirsten Dunst stars as Theresa, a haunted young woman spiraling in the wake of profound loss, torn between her fractured emotional state and the reality-altering effects of a potent cannabinoid drug. The studio went on to describe the film adding, “Immersive, spellbinding, and sublime, Woodshock transcends genre to become a singularly thrilling cinematic experience that marks the arrival of the Mulleavy siblings as a major new voice in film”. You can watch the first trailer for the film below.

Dunst is coming off her popular role as Peggy Blumquis in the series “FARGO,” Dunst is also expected to appear in the remake of “The Beguiled”. That film, directed by Sofia Coppola, takes place at a girls’ school in Virginia during the Civil War. At this school the women take in a wounded Union soldier, played by Colin Farrell. Soon, the house is taken over with sexual tension, rivalries, and an unexpected turn of events. Joining Dunst in that film are Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Colin Farrell and Angourie Rice. The western-drama is expected to release in theaters this June, you can watch a trailer for the film here.

The film certainly seems to be quite an experience, and you can set a reminder to see “Woodshock” in theaters starting on September 15, 2017.
