MTV Movie and TV Awards: The Winners List 2017

MTV premiered the very first “MTV Movie & TV Awards” on Sunday night, the event was hosted by comedian Adam Devine. Going into the awards show “Get Out” had the most nominations, six in total, with “Beauty and the Beast” and “Stranger Things” tied with four. The show continued the tradition of having categories like Best Kiss, Best Hero, Best Villain and more, MTV added television and streaming series to nominees this year. MTV also combined the Best Actor and Best Actress categories, and replaced them with non-gendered Best Actor in a Movie and Best Actor in a Show. Best Fight has been modernized to Best Fight the System reflecting the audience’s increasing awareness and activism around broader social justice issues. In addition, MTV introduced Best American Story, Tearjerker, Best Host, Best Reality Competition and Next Generation.
