Spike TV is bringing “The Mist” to television this summer, and the network released a first-look trailer of the adaption for fans to enjoy. The story picks up when the residents of Bridgeville, Maine find themselves engulfed by a foreboding mist, containing a myriad of inexplicable and bizarre threats. Soon their very humanity is put to the test as they try and survive. “The Mist” will be a new 10 episode serialized drama, and it is set to premiere on Thursday, June 22 at 10 PM, ET/PT on Spike. Of course this isn’t the only Stephen King tale coming to life this year. The author’s horror-classic “It” will be releasing in theaters this September. That adaptation was directed by Andrés Muschietti, working off a screenplay written by Chase Palmer. The big-screen adaptation will star Bill Skarsgård, Finn Wolfhard and Javier Botet. Fans of the original “The Mist” can watch the trailer below, thanks to an early upload from Spike to YouTube.
Based on a story by Stephen King, THE MIST has been re-imagined for television by Executive Producer and Writer Christian Torpe and produced for Spike by TWC-Dimension Television. Spike’s THE MIST centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world, and in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
THE MIST stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Washington, Jr. and Frances Conroy. King fans can set a reminder to catch the new TV-event on June 22, 2017. Meanwhile, “It” will premiere in theaters nationwide on September 8, 2017.
