DC confirmed today that Katie Cassidy will be returning to “Arrow” this season, not only that, she is coming back as a regular on the show in season 6. If you have been following along, you know that things did not end will for Katie Cassidy’s character in the show, but it seems that she will be making quite a comeback. “Arrow” recently added Lexa Doig to the cast, she is playing the fearless assassin Talia al Ghul.
Warner Bros. Television officially made the announcement, with DC Comics also confirming the news on social-media. Fans of Katie Cassidy can find her on episodes #522 and #523 in season 5. Cassidy will return in season 6 as a series-regular, picking up the role of Black Siren in the series.
Katie Cassidy has appeared in a few episodes recently, all flashbacks of course, and is quickly becoming a crowd favorite. Cassidy has also been the voice behind the character on the animated series “Vixen” shown on CW Seed.
In the announcement executive producer Marc Guggenheim told fans, “One of the things that most excites us about Arrow is that we go where the story takes us.” Guggenheim added, “Last year, the story took us to the tragic death of Laurel Lance. This year, our midseason finale reintroduced us to Laurel’s doppelgänger, Black Siren. We were so taken by Katie’s fearless interpretation of this character that we knew her story was not yet finished. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Katie back to Arrow as Black Siren, though as her appearances on Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow this season show, she never really left the family.”
The CW has become the home for quite a few hit DC properties, recently adding “Supergirl” to the lineup from CBS. Other standout DC series are of course “Arrow,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” and “The Flash”. DC’s “Gotham” can be found on FOX, and is still a hit on the network.
