Freeform sets massive April premieres for ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and ‘Famous in Love’
Big premieres in April
April is a huge month for Freeform, the popular network will be launching the seventh-season of “Pretty Little Liars,” and kicking off its newest series “Famous in Love”. The season-seven premiere will follow a marathon run of former “Pretty Little Liars” episodes, starting at 11am and airing straight up to the 8pm premiere of the new season. The seventh-seaon picks up after Noel Kahn’s abrupt death, as the Liars are trying to put their lives back together. The new episode is called “Playtime,” and it will be the first of the final ten episodes of Freeform’s hit original series. Fans can catch the premiere on April 18th, following the all-day marathon.
In the new season-opener, Spencer focuses on learning more about her connection to Mary Drake, while Aria and Ezra figure out what their future may hold now that Nicole is back in the picture. Mona helps Hanna get her fashion career back on track, and Emily struggles to balance things between Ali and Paige now that the three of them are working at Rosewood High. Meanwhile, A.D. has a special delivery for the Liars, one that reveals the final endgame. The Liars realize this latest gift pushes things to a whole new level.
“Pretty Little Liars” is produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television and is executive produced by I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick, Leslie Morgenstein, Charlie Craig and Joseph Dougherty. The series stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Shay Mitchell, Andrea Parker, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse.
As we reported earlier this month, all 10 episodes of “Famous In Love” will launch on digital platforms alongside the standard televised premiere. The new series, from Warner Horizon Television, will be available on the Freeform App, Freeform.com, On Demand and Hulu, simultaneous with the TV premiere on Tuesday, April 18.
“Famous in Love” will immediately follow the spring premiere of the final season of “Pretty Little Liars,” so prep your binging with extra snacks and ready your Twitter feed. The series follows Paige Townsen, just a normal college girl working on her business degree who enjoys acting on the side. When the next big movie franchise goes into production and begins an open-casting for the next “It girl” to play the lead role, Paige’s roommates Cassie and Jake convince her to go. After an amazing audition with Hollywood heartthrob Rainer Devon, her chance of a lifetime happens. Paige gets the part and her life changes forever. Meanwhile, intrigue is flowing through Hollywood as every actor wants a part in the new “Locked” film.
“Famous In Love” is produced by Long Lake Media, Farah Films and Carmina Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Horizon Television. I. Marlene King (“Pretty Little Liars”), Christopher Fife (“Revenge”), Melissa Carter (“Little Black Book”), Miguel Arteta (“Getting On”) and Dan Farah (“Ready Player One”) are executive producers, and Rebecca Serle is co-executive producer.
The series stars Bella Thorne (“The DUFF”) as Paige Townsen, Carter Jenkins (“The Following”) as Rainer Devon, Charlie DePew (“The Amazing Spiderman”) as Jake Salt, Georgie Flores (“CSI”) as Cassandra Perkins, Niki Koss (“My Stepdaughter”) as Alexis Glenn, Pepi Sonuga (“The Fosters”) as Tangey Turner, Keith Powers (“Straight Outta Compton”) as Jordan Wilder and Perrey Reeves (“Entourage”) as Nina Devon.
