Universal Pictures released a new “The Fate of the Furious” trailer this week, teasing more scenes from the high-octane crime-thriller.

The new installment will have big shoes to fill, 2015’s “Furious 7” was one of the fastest movies to reach $1 billion worldwide in box-office history, and was the sixth-biggest global title of all time. Furious 8 will be the newest chapter to the ever-expanding franchise, and it’s hitting theaters this spring.

The story takes place while Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon, meanwhile Brian and Mia have retired from their criminal ways. The rest of the popular crew have been exonerated, and for the most part, everyone is leading a normal life. That’s when a mysterious woman (played by Oscar winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom back into the world of crime, having him betray those closest to him.

The studio teases the film stating, “From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.” Fans can watch the new trailer below, or on YouTube.

For The Fate of the Furious, Vin Diesel is joined by a returning all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell. In addition to Theron, the series welcomes newcomers Scott Eastwood and Oscar winner Helen Mirren. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and produced by returning producers Neal H. Moritz, Michael Fottrell and Diesel. The film’s executive producers are Amanda Lewis, Samantha Vincen and Chris Morgan.

Fans won’t have to wait that much longer to see the film in theaters, “The Fate of the Furious” will hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
