Latest ‘Alien: Covenant’ trailer focuses on the crew

One last meal before Alien time

The new ‘Alien’ film is almost here, and FOX has been releasing teasers all week to get fans excited for the next thriller. The new featurette that was released today focuses on the crew of the film, and we are assuming not all of them will survive through the entire movie. This isn’t the first trailer for the highly-anticipated film, but it does offer a quick recap of the crew onboard the ship.

The new trailer for “Alien: Covenant,” the next installment to the long-running ‘ALIEN’ franchise, was released on social-media, and can be found below. This trailer serves as the official prologue, and introduces the crew of the mission as they gather for a final meal before entering cryosleep.

The studio sets up the trailer stating, “Set aboard the Covenant, a colonization ship on its way to a remote planet to form a new human settlement, the main crew (all couples) and their android, Walter, enjoy their final meal together before cryosleep.” The film was directed by Ridley Scott, who returns to the popular franchise once again for the project. The original story was written by Michael Green, the screenplay was written by John Logan. Katherine Waterston sat down at a press-junket earlier this year where she talked about her character, and working with Ridley Scott.

The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape. You can watch the new trailer below, or on the official FOX YouTube channel.

The film has quite a popular cast, including Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup and Danny McBride. They are joined on-screen by Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.

FOX will release “Alien: Covenant” in theaters on May 19, 2017.
