It’s time to unleash your inner star power, Universal has set a home box-office release date for the fall hit “Sing!”. The film will be released through Illumination and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment on Digital HD on March 3, 2017 and in a Special Edition 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD set on March 21, 2017. The film will also launch on VOD services on March 21st as well.
The music-filled comedy will include over 60-minutes of bonus content and will incorporate three all-new, mini movies featuring the cast from SING as well as an exclusive Tori Kelly music video and a variety of musical extras.
Illumination is the same studio that brought moviegoers the popular animated hit “The Secret Life of Pets” and the “Despicable Me” franchise. “Sing!” is an animated comedy about finding the music that lives inside all of us.
SING stars Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theater. The film also features Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and unappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies; as well as Seth MacFarlane, John C. Reilly, and Grammy Award-nominated Tori Kelly.

“Sing!” was an amazing hit for Universal last year, bringing in over $265M for the studio in domestic gross alone. The animated-comedy went on to gross over $501M worldwide. The film was directed by Christophe Lourdelet and Garth Jennings, working off a script that was written by Jennings as well.
