Sony is hoping to lure more players into the wondrous world of VR gaming in 2017, outlining a new PS VR bundle that will hit the market in 2017. A blog post by John Koller, Vice President of PlayStation Brand Marketing at SIEA, detailed the new PS VR option that will be available to pre-order.
Koller stated, “If you haven’t picked up PlayStation VR yet, we’ve got some good news – the PS VR bundle is making a return.” The first bundle was available for pre-order ahead of the system’s initial launch, and is retailed for $499. The bundle has been hard to find, even on sites like Amazon.com or Bestbuy.com, but Sony seems to be sending more out this year. The PlayStation VR Bundle includes the PlayStation VR PS VR Worlds Bundle, the PlayStation VR headset, a PlayStation Camera, Two PlayStation Move motion controllers, a PlayStation VR demo disc and PlayStation VR Worlds.
Sony will also be releasing a new “Until Dawn: Rush of Blood Bundle”. That option will be available at GameStop and EB Games. According to today’s announcement, the bundle will become available later this month for $499 USD as well and will include a PlayStation VR headset, a PlayStation Camera, two PlayStation Move motion controllers, a PlayStation VR demo disc and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.
Koller added, “It’s only been three months since we launched PS VR and the game lineup looks to be incredibly strong in 2017. I’m super excited about a few PS VR games in the year ahead, with Farpoint, Golem, Gran Turismo Sport, Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin and Star Trek: Bridge Crew in my sights.”
Many people have been selling the PS VR bundles on third-party sites like eBay at inflated prices, some as high as $800. With more stock on the way those prices should come down, but would-be VR players will just have to watch retailers closely and act quickly.
