Lionsgate held the U.S. premiere for “John Wick: Chapter 2” this week, bringing the cast and crew along to promote the film and meet with fans. Attending the event were Ruby Rose and Keanu Reeves, they were accompanied by fellow co-stars Laurence Fishburne and Common. The film’s director was also on-hand for the event, as well as Lance Reddick, Peter Stormare, Riccardo Scamarico and Executive Producer David Leitch.

“John Wick: Chapter 2” was directed by Chad Stahelski, her also directed the first installment a few years ago. The film stars Ruby Rose, Keanu Reeves, Bridget Moynahan and Laurence Fishburne, it also features Ian McShane, John Leguizamo and Common. At the event Reeves spoke about his love for the franchise, the film also served as a reunion for Reeves and Fishburne, who famously starred in “The Matrix” franchise together. Ruby Rose discussed the thrill of working with Keanu on the project, and the fans seemed to love seeing their favorite stars hit the red-carpet.

Ruby Rose has been quite busy lately, her film’s “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” and “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” both premiered world-wide over the last few weeks. Rose’s “xXx” installment opened at number two with a $20.13M weekend, but “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” opened at number-four with only $13.6M domestically. Rose also helped “Orange is the New Black” take home an Emmy this year.

While most reports indicate a strong domestic turnout for the sequel, the film will have some serious competition on opening weekend. Both “Fifty Shades Darker” and “The LEGO Batman Movie” are scheduled to hit theaters alongside the highly-anticipated follow-up. It’s no surprise that Lionsgate was quick to order a sequel for the franchise, the first film opened to $14.4M in 2014 and went on to make $43.03M domestically, all while working on a moderate budget. The film was also a hit in foreign markets, ending its theatrical run with an $86.01M gross. You can watch the premiere interviews below, or on our official YouTube channel.
