Disney has released one last trailer before “Beauty and the Beast” hits theaters in March, offering the best look yet at the star-studded cast and a bit of the musical score. The new live-action film is set to release in theaters on March 17, 2017, and is expected to rule the domestic box-office throughout the week. The trailer’s release just so happens to coincide with the launch of ticket-sales, which are available online through the regular outlets, or through beourguest.com.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
Disney has released several trailer leading up to this final installment, along with musical-trailers and announcements of the soundtrack. Disney confirmed that Celine Dion will perform an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” for the film, and that song will also be included on the film’s soundtrack, which is already available on sites like Amazon.com. The new song was written by eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin”) and veteran lyricist and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (“The Lion King,” “Evita”). It was announced earlier this month that Ariana Grande and John Legend will perform the “Beauty and the Beast” title track for the film.
