The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards aired on Sunday night, celebrating the best of TV and Film from the previous year. Unlike the Golden Globes, no particular film or series swept the show this year, though the Academy Award may be a completely different story.

Fans seemed very excited to see Denzel Washington take the award for Best Actor in the motion picture category for his work in “Fences”. The project also helped Viola Davis win a Best Supporting Actress award. The early crowd-favorite going into the ceremony was the cast of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” who trounced HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and won the best ensemble in a TV drama. The younger-side of the cast also helped announce the Comedy ensemble award, which went to Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black”.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won for her role as President Selina Meyer this year, she took home the Best Actress in a comedy series award, it was William H. Macy that won Best Actor in a comedy series for his role in “Shameless.”
