It may not have a name yet, but Disney has already confirmed a new character for the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff featuring a young Han Solo.

The news was confirmed today by the official Star Wars website, stating that Woody Harrelson will be joining the cast of the new film. The film is set to release in theaters in 2018.

Harrelson will join Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) and Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) in the film. Also confirmed for the project is “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke, though her role has not disclosed at this time.

The post stated, “This Star Wars Story is the second in a series of films that live outside the Skywalker family saga, and is set during the early scoundrel days of the iconic characters, prior to A New Hope.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” said the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”

The movie doesn’t have a title at this point, at least one that Disney has announced. The film is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, and Simon Emanuel. The film will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, working off a screenplay by Jon Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan. As stated earlier, this film is the second spinoff in the “Star Wars” universe, with “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” being the first. That film has already made over $479.12M domestically, and has reached $916.22M worldwide.

“Star Wars: Episode VIII” will release this year, that film was directed by Rian Johnson. The film will star John Boyega, Carrie Fisher (filmed before her death), her daughter Billie Lourd, Tom Hardy, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill and Benicio Del Toro.

Disney slated the new Han Solo project to release in 2018.
