Disney offers an extended “Cars 3” preview

No one stops Lightning McQueen

Disney released another TV-spot for “Cars 3,” which will race into theaters later this summer. In the third-installment to the popular franchise, Lightning McQueen is defending his title against a new generation of racers.

Brian Fee directed “Cars 3” for Walt Disney Studios, the previous installment was directed by John Lasseter and Brad Lewis. That was Lasseter’s second ‘Cars’ movie, he co-directed the original “Cars” with Joe Ranft.

As for “Cars 3,” this film will feature the voice-talents of Armie Hammer, Owen Wilson and Bonnie Hunt.

For almost 10 years now the ‘Cars’ franchise has been a consistent hit for Disney. The original film was released back in 2006, and went on to make over $462.21M globally. The follow-up sequel released a few later in 2011, making over $562.11M in theaters across the globe.

Disney released the TV-spot below online for everyone to see, you can watch that trailer here, or on the company’s official YouTube channel.

Disney’s next major-release will be “Beauty and the Beast,” which is set to release in theaters this March. The live-action adaptation was directed by Bill Condon, working off a screenplay written by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Stephen Chbosky. Among the many stars of the film are Emma Watson, Ewan McGregor and Dan Stevens. Disney previewed a new trailer for the film during the Golden Globes, you can watch that trailer here.

Not to be forgotten, Disney currently has three ‘2016 Releases’ that are still on the box-office charts. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” recently crossed the $914.46M globally this week, and “Moana” jumped to $450.06M globally. Even Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” managed to remain on the top 25 domestic-films last weekend. That superhero adaptation has made over $658.84M for the studio since it released back in November.
