Kate Hudson’s Fabletics teams up with the UN for new campaign
"by girls, for girls"
Fabletics announced an exclusive partnership with the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign, a “by girls, for girls” movement, hoping to become a positive influence that inspires women everywhere to achieve their dreams and strive for their goals.
“I dream about a day where women everywhere are able to live their most empowered, most fulfilling lives,” said Kate Hudson. “And the best place to start is with girls because they represent tomorrow’s leaders, change-makers and innovators. It’s only natural to join forces with Girl Up and help further their mission to unite girls to truly change the world.”
The Girl Up group hopes to bolster education and services for adolescent girls. The company strives to improve their access to basic health services and aims to create a safe environment where they can begin to transform their communities.
As the United Nations Foundation’s adolescent girl campaign, Girl Up engages girls to take action. Led by a community of nearly half a million passionate advocates raising awareness and funds, their efforts help the hardest to reach girls living in places where it is hardest to be a girl.
Fabletics said in a statement that the company, “is committed to the empowerment of women, and central to that philosophy is to create a community that nurtures inspiring, confident and spirited individuals that are able to realize their best selves.” The company went on to say, “By partnering with Girl Up, Fabletics is able to reach a young community of women around the world and affect change. Fabletics has committed to partnering with the organization through exclusive capsule collections, events and awareness-focused campaigns over the next few years.”
“Girl Up girls are on the move, making change worldwide, which is why we’re excited to partner with Fabletics in helping girls live their happiest, healthiest lives,” said Anna Blue, Deputy Director of Girl Up.
