“Last of Us 2,” and “Uncharted” top Playstation Experience announcements
This weekend Sony held the third annual PlayStation Experience, which has quickly become a popular event with Playstation fans. One of the night’s biggest announcements was “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy,” which will be coming exclusively to Playstation in 2017.
“Uncharted 4” may be the last traditional installment in the franchise, but it seems Naughty Dog isn’t putting all of the characters to bed so quickly. The released trailer, along with all of the trailers shown at today’s event, can be found in the playlist video embedded below. Sony also introduced fans to “Gran Turismo Sport,” and released another trailer for the upcoming RPG “Horizon Zero Dawn.” The event also took a moment to jump into the new “Gravity Rush 2” game, and even brought along a few insights to the popular franchise. Sony also gave fans another look at “The Last Guardian,” which the company will FINALLY release later this year.
“MLB The Show 17” was also part of the program, but sport games took a backseat to RPGs and remastered titles at this year’s event. Colorful creations like “Knack 2” and “Wipeout Omega Collection” seemed to be bigger hits with the crowd, but Sony always supports driving simulators and sports games each year. “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy” really got the crowd going, and the game is just one of several remasters that Sony had in-store for fans. Sony will also release a remastered version of “PaRappa the Rapper” for the PS4, and Sony released a demo to celebrate the game’s 20th anniversary. Other remasters in the works include “Patapon” and “LocoRoco”.
If you love fighting games then you should be very excited to know that “Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite” will be coming to PS4 in 2017, and “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3” is launching on the PS4 this weekend. Sony also confirmed that “Street Fighter V” will be adding the character ‘Akuma’. “Destiny with Rise of Iron” will also be getting a new event, called “The Dawning,” which will launch on December 13, 2017. Other hits coming to the PS4 from smaller devs are “Dreadnaught,” “Let It Die,” “Absolver,” “Edith Finch,” “Nier: Automata,” “Vane,” and “Nex Machina”.
Oh and did we not mention what Naughty Dog had in-store? As you can imagine, fans went bonkers when Sony confirmed “The Last of Us Part II,” which will run on an updated engine on the PS4 upon release. You can watch all of the trailers above, or find the playlist here on YouTube.
