Jessica Biel goes Noir in “A Kind of Murder” trailer

Patricia Highsmith, the author of Strangers on a Train, The Price of Salt and The Talented Mr. Ripley, is once again the source of inspiration for another Hollywood crime-drama.

Magnolia Pictures has released a new trailer for the upcoming drama-thriller “A Kind of Murder,” a film set in our very own New York City in the mid 1960s.

In the film Walter Stackhouse (Patrick Wilson) is a successful architect married to the beautiful Clara (Jessica Biel). Together the duo seem to live the perfect life, but Walter’s fascination with an unsolved murder leads him down a dark path and he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer and an overambitious detective. All the while, another woman begins to attract the attention of Walter, only complicating his once-perfect life.

The film won’t be released in theaters and OnDemand, so if you are a fan of the genre, or the original work, you can set a reminder to watch it on December 16, 2016.

The film itself was directed by Andy Goddard, working from a screenplay written by Susan Boyd. The story is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel. You can watch the first trailer below, or on the studio’s official Youtube channel here.

Joining Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson in the film are Haley Bennet and Vincent Kartheiser.
