Paramount Pictures has finally released the first full-length, official trailer for “Ghost in the Shell”. The studio has been teasing the trailer for weeks, offering fans short-clips and teaser-trailers through social-media channels and on the company’s official YouTube channel. Now fans can finally watch the first trailer, which consists mostly of extended versions of all the clips previously released, and you can also set a reminder to watch the film itself this spring.
The new adaptation will release in theaters on March 31, 2017. The film is based on the original series from Kodansha Comics, which were written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow. This new version will be produced by Avi Arad and Steven Paul. (“GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE”). Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
The series has quite a following, and has released several animated films in the past. They were very popular with fans of the series and are available through authorized retailers like Amazon.com. The cast of “Ghost in the Shell” includes Beat Takeshi Kitano as Daisuke Aramaki, Juliette Binoche as Dr. Ouelet, Michael Pitt as Kuze, Pilou Asbæk as Batou, and Kaori Momoi.
The members of Section 9 are played by Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara and Tuwanda Manyimo. The film’s crew includes Cinematographer Jess Hall, Editor Neil Smith, Production Designer Jan Roelfs, and Costume Designers Kurt Swanson and Bart Mueller.
