“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” offers a Hope trailer
We are just a few short weeks away from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” premiering in theaters across the country. Earlier this week Disney released a brand-new “Hope” trailer for the highly-anticipated film, featuring a bit more story and a lot more Darth Vader.
The trailer is a mix of previously shown scenes from the film, and a few new scenes to keep fans excited. The movie will be the first spinoff story set in the Star Wars Universe, and is expected to rule the box-office for a few weeks after it is released in December.
Disney is currently hard at work casting the rest of the young Han Solo film. Earlier this year the studio confirmed that Alden Ehrenreich will play Han Solo, and this month the studio confirmed that Donald Glover will play a young Lando. The young Han Solo spinoff will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, with Jon Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan writing the screenplay. While that film is still a far, far away at this point, you can watch the trailer for the upcoming “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” below.
Disney will release “Rogue One” in theaters on December 16, 2016. The film takes place just before the events in ‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,’ the 1977 film when the world met Luke Skywalker for the first time, and will follow the Rebellion as they prepare to steal the plans to the Death Star.
Rogue One was directed by Gareth Edwards, working off a screenplay that was written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy. The film will star Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker and Diego Luna. With James Earl Jones and Warwick Davis returning to the franchise as well.
You can watch and re-watch the trailer above for clues about the upcoming film, and set a reminder to clear your schedule on December 16, 2016.
