EuropaCorp released a first-look trailer for “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” today, the film is a new sci-fi epic that is coming to theaters next summer. As we reported earlier this week, the trailer was first shown in Regal cinemas over the weekend as a special promotion.

“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” was directed by Luc Besson, and the film will be released in theaters on July 21, 2017. Fans of the genre can check out the new trailer below.

Fans might notice that the trailer includes work from the Beatles, which we stated earlier is the first time a Beatles master has been licensed for use in a movie trailer. Hopefully it pays off well for all involved.

Filled with gigantic worlds, the film relies heavily on special-effects and CGI to build a working world around the story’s main-characters, a move that usually works out splendidly, or goes horribly wrong for studios. You can judge for yourself when the film hits theaters in July, until then you can get a better look at the characters, worlds and effects trough the trailer that was released today.

In Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) maintain order throughout the universe for the government of the human territories. Under orders from their commander (Clive Owen), the duo embark on a mission to Alpha, an intergalactic city where diverse species share their technology and resources for the betterment of all. The ever-expanding metropolis is also home to sinister forces that jeopardize the future of mankind.
