When a film is set in outer-space, finding alien life is seldom a good thing. Sony Pictures released the first official trailer for “Life” this week, offering a glimpse at the new sci-fi thriller that will be releasing in 2017.
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
The new thriller was directed by Daniel Espinosa, and was written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The film has quite an amazing cast behind it, though not all of them were featured prominently in the new trailer. Joining Gyllenhaal and Reynolds in the project are Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare and Olga Dihovichnaya. You can watch the first official trailer below, thanks to a late-night upload from Sony Pictures.
The film was produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn; while Don Granger and Vicki Dee Rock served as Executive Producers on the film. Sci-fi fans can set a reminder to catch the film in theaters when it releases Memorial Day weekend in 2017.
