Disney’s newest version of “Pete’s Dragon” will be released on Digital HD and Blu-ray this November. The recent release, which is reimagining of Disney’s popular family film, centered on an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot. Of course Elliot isn’t just any best friend, he’s also a dragon.

The summer hit will release on November 29, 2016. The film will be available on Digital HD, Blu-ray, Disney Movies Anywhere, DVD and On-Demand. Disney announced the release-date on World Dragon Day, and the heartwarming adventure arrives just in time to entertain the entire family this holiday season.

Families will also get to see never-before-seen bonus features, including a revealing look at director David Lowery’s personal diary kept during the filming of “Pete’s Dragon,” the design process behind the lovable dragon Elliot, deleted scenes, a tour of the film’s breathtaking production location of New Zealand, audio commentary by filmmakers and actors and hilarious bloopers. Disney fans can watch a short clip featuring the creation of Elliot below, as part of the World Dragon Day celebration. The live-action and CGI hybrid did very well for Disney in theaters. The film grossed over $75M domestically, and pulled in another $57M globally. During its theatrical run the film managed to make over $132.55M at the box-office, and now the studio will set its sights on the home box-office charts.

As we mentioned before, the film was directed by David Lowery, working off a screenplay that he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks. The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford and Oakes Fegley.
