It’s an exciting day for fans of DC Comics as Warner Bros. Pictures has released a ‘first look still’ of Amber Heard as Mera, queen of Atlantis.
Heard will be playing the popular aquatic Queen in the new Justice League movie, which is set to release in 2017. The photo was released on social-media earlier today as a surprise for fans, with just one production-still being send out via the film’s director Zack Snyder.
Mera’s exact role in the upcoming Justice League film is still a mystery, but she will most likely play a much larger part in the future ‘Aquaman’ movie. That project is set to release in July 2018 and will be directed by James Wan. The film’s screenplay was written by Will Beall, working off a story that was written by Geoff Johns. The superhero film will star Amber Heard, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Willem Dafoe.
As for Justice League, Zack Snyder will work with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jared Leto as the Joker, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Henry Cavill as Superman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. They will also be joined by Ezra Miller as The Flash and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
Fans won’t have to wait as long to see Justice League, the film is set to open in November 2017.
