Lionsgate released a new trailer for ‘The Power Rangers’ reboot at New York Comic-Con this week. The new film will hit theaters across the nation in March, and you can get a look at the new cast below.
The film will star Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G and Ludi Lin as the popular superheros. The film will also feature Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Banks.
The new reboot was directed by Dean Israelite, working off a screenplay written by John Gatins. The original story was written by Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless, Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney, and was based on the same “Power Rangers” that were created by Haim Saban and Toei Company Ltd..
The film follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers. You can watch the teaser-trailer for the film below if you couldn’t make it to New York Comic-Con this year.
Lionsgate teases the film stating, “Five ordinary teenagers must team together to become something extraordinary in order to save the world from being obliterated by an alien threat.”
