Natalie Portman portrays Jacqueline Kennedy in first ‘Jackie’ trailer
FOX Searchlight has released the first official-trailer for ‘Jackie,’ the upcoming bio-drama starring Natalie Portman as former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
The studio calls the film a “searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history,” told through the eyes of the iconic First Lady. The film follows Jacqueline Kennedy during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination.
The studio went on to say, “Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created and loved so well.”
The film will release at the height of awards season, hitting theaters in early December. Pablo Larraín directed the film, working off a screenplay written by Noah Oppenheim. Joining Natalie Portman on-screen are Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup, John Hurt and John Carroll Lynch. You can watch the first official trailer below, thanks to an upload from FOX Searchlight earlier today.
The film will be released in select theaters starting on December 2, 2016.
