Netflix is just full of premiere dates this morning, shortly after the streaming service announced the premiere of ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist,’ the company also announced the premiere of ‘Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events’.
The series will become available on Netflix starting in January, on Friday the 13th of course. The series is based on internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) and starring Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris. The books have sold more than 65 million copies and have been translated into 43 languages. The epic series will be executive produced by Barry Sonnenfeld, who will also direct a number of episodes, and Daniel Handler, legal, literary and social representative for Lemony Snicket.
A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death. The eight-episode series is a Netflix original production, executive produced by Emmy Award winner Barry Sonnenfeld and Daniel Handler.
Fans can set a reminder to watch the series when it premieres January 13, 2017, the show will only be available on Netflix.
