Earlier this week we detailed the premiere schedule for SYFY’s upcoming ’31 Days of Halloween,’ which will introduce several new SYFY original series and a few SYFY original films for horror-fans to enjoy. Leading off the scar-a-thon will be “The Crooked Man,” which will premiere on October 1, 2016.

SYFY will premiere its original film “The Crooked Man” this Saturday at 9/8c, it will serve as the first big premiere for the “31 Days of Halloween” event, and will give horror-thriller fans their first big release for the spooky season. So once you’re halfway through this year’s New York Comic-Con binge, you can settle in for this year’s first Halloween screening party at your place.

In the film, while having attending a slumber party, twelve year old ‘Olivia’ is blamed for the horrific and mysterious death of her friend. The friend was killed after singing a song, created by a reclusive mastermind, ‘Milo’ (Michael Jai White), which summons a demonic figure known as “The Crooked Man”.

Returning to her hometown six years later, a string of unusual deaths lead Olivia (Angelique Rivera) to believe that she’s still being haunted by whatever she saw that fateful night. The studio teases, “Once you sing the rhyme, everyone in the house is cursed to die by his hands.” You can watch the film’s trailer below.

The film was directed by Jesse Holland, and stars Michael Jai White, Angelique Rivera, Cameron Jebo, Dina Meyer and Amber Benson.
