Matt Lauer to moderate first Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump debate
NBC has nailed down the date, time and moderator for the big “Commander-in-Chief Forum” this year. The televised event will mark the first time that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump square-off in front of voters before the big November election.
This marks the very first joint candidate event of the General Election as well, the special will air live from New York’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, September 7 on NBC and MSNBC. In the middle of it all will be TODAY co-anchor Matt Lauer.
Lauer has been selected to moderate the NBC News and MSNBC Commander-in-Chief Forum on Wednesday, which will be a one-hour event that will be simulcast live at 8pm ET on the NBC broadcast network and MSNBC, and will stream live on NBCNews.com.
NBC teased the event stating, “In the first joint candidate event of the 2016 general election, presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will take questions on national security, military affairs and veterans’ issues from a live audience comprised of service members and veterans.”
