Yes ‘Stranger Things’ only just released on Netflix a few weeks ago, but fans can’t seem to wait for more episodes. Luckily for the impatient fan, Netflix has already started teasing the new season, which was confirmed earlier today by the video-Streaming service. Not only did Netflix confirm a new season, the company also released the following teaser-trailer to get fans excited and the second season is already longer than the first.
Netflix called ‘Stranger Things’ season one a “love letter to the supernatural classics of the ’80s.” The series follows the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. The first season of the show was an instant hit on Netflix, and the series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine. You can watch the first teaser trailer for the new season below, thanks to an early morning upload from Netflix.
The second season will release in 2017, but all of the details have not been confirmed at this point. There will be new characters introduced in the second season, and so far there will be nine episodes in the new season (not 8). Netflix may opt to add more later, but at least it’s a little longer than that first season at this point. Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines, Hidden) serve as writer, directors and co-showrunners of the series, and are executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen via their 21 Laps entertainment banner (The Spectacular Now, Night At The Museum, Real Steel, Date Night). Shawn Levy also serves as director. Stranger Things is a Netflix original series
