Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone have become the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan of their generation. Although they are happily coupled with other people, audiences can’t seem to get enough of these two on screen. The duo have partnered up once again, this time for the lighthearted musical-drama ‘La La Land’. The trailer is filled with moments that have attracted audiences to their pairings in the past, and the two are sure to shine when the film hits theaters in a few months.
Lionsgate released another trailer for ‘La La Land’ this morning, the upcoming musical set to release this winter. The film has an impressive cast behind it, even if you are excluding the reunion of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Joining the popular duo on screen are John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock, Callie Hernandez, Sonoya Mizuno, Jessica Rothe, Tom Everett Scott and Josh Pence. The film was written and directed by Damien Chazelle, with Fred Berger, Jordan Horowitz, Gary Gilbert and Marc Platt producing.
Justin Hurwitz was behind the music and score for the project, with lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. This marks the second trailer for the highly stylized musical comedy, which is sure to be a hit with fans when it releases in December. You can watch the new trailer below, thanks to an early morning upload from Lionsgate to the company’s official YouTube channel.
Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle, LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
If you need to set a reminder for the film, ‘La La Land’ will hit theaters across the country on December 16, 2016.
