Publishers have planning their fall-releases for the better part of the year, and this year’s most highly-anticipated titles are almost ready to hit bookshelves and e-readers across the country. September through January is the prime release-window for top-authors to compete for your attention, and many of today’s most popular literary lords and ladies are releasing new material over the next few months.
Each year the editorial team over at Amazon shares their 2016 Fall Books Preview, offering a glimpse of which titles have been building up the most steam on the popular retail giant’s site. This year offers quite an eclectic mix, with biographies & memoirs, cookbooks, literature & fiction, mystery & thrillers, and quite a few children and YA books hitting the list.
There are a few long-standing favorites on the list as well, including John Grisham, Stephenie Meyer, Bruce Springsteen and Jodi Picoult. Each fall, the Amazon Books Editors handpick the top-20 best new fiction and nonfiction books as part of their blockbuster list. These are titles will most likely debut on the bestseller’s lists, and will be the talk of the town throughout the fall and winter.
“As editors, we look forward to fall because it’s the biggest season for new books and a great time to highlight picks we think readers will enjoy,” said Chris Schluep, Amazon Books Editor. “Our team sifts through hundreds of titles to curate a list that includes fan favorites like John Grisham and Stephenie Meyer, and authors that readers may not have discovered yet, like Maria Semple and Sabaa Tahir. We hope readers get as much from these books as we did.”
There are a dozen ways to organize this list, but to be fair to the authors, we are going to prioritize them according to release date. Here are the 2016 Big Fall Books as recommended by the Amazon Editorial Team.
