Earlier this month Paramount Pictures released the teaser for “Arrival,” a sci-fi film starring Amy Adams as a linguist meeting Aliens for the first time. Now the studio has released the first official trailer for the film, offering a better look at the project. The film is scheduled to release later this year. While the trailer offers a little more insight than the teaser trailer, you can’t expect the studio to give too much information away for this sci-fi mystery/thriller. At least we hope they don’t give too much away.
Arrival was directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film is based on a short story written by Ted Chiang. For this adaptation, Eric Heisserer wrote the screenplay. Joining Amy Adams in the film are Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. Fans of the sci-fi genre can watch the first official trailer below, thanks to an early morning upload to YouTube from Paramount Pictures.
In the film mysterious spacecraft suddenly appear across the globe. A elite team, lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams), are quickly brought together to investigate the sightings and possible make contact. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them. The studio teaes, “she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.”
