Lenovo’s new gaming PCs are built for the VR experience

This week at Gamescom, Lenovo introduced two new builds that should get PC players excited about jumping into VR. The two models shows are the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube and IdeaCentre AIO Y910 gaming PC. The company claims that 47% of gamers are playing in settings beyond the confines of a desk, a terrific start for the beginning of VR.

The IdeaCentre Y710 Cube and IdeaCentre AIO Y910 offer minimalist form factors, offering high performance and a bold new design for players looking for a pre-built that can do it all.

The IdeaCentre Y710 Cube comes with a built-in carry handle for easy transport between gaming stations. The PC offers a compact cube form factor weighing only 7.4 kg, it can also be customized to offer NVIDIA’s latest GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, and up to 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. That setup will give you an amazing 4K gaming, VR experience.

“With VR, live streaming and lifelike visuals that dwarf consoles, PC gamers have completely new ways to experience and immerse themselves in games today,” said Johnson Jia, Lenovo’s senior vice president, PC & Smart Device Business Group. “Our new IdeaCentre Y710 Cube and IdeaCentre AIO Y910 gaming desktops are the products of years of listening to the growing ways and places in which gamers choose to play, giving them even more freedom with these unique, space-saving forms.”

The IdeaCentre Y710 Cube can also be equipped with the Killer DoubleShot Pro Wi-Fi, running Windows 10 Home, up to integrated Dolby Audio and up to 2TB HDD (hard disk drive) or up to 256GB SSD (solid state drive) storage. For those who want even more control in their favorite games, the Cube also comes with the option of an integrated Xbox One™ Wireless receiver including one Xbox One Wireless controller. The receiver supports up to eight Xbox One controllers simultaneously for endless hours of gaming sessions with friends. Additionally, the system offers players the option to bundle peripherals like the Lenovo Y Series Gaming Mechanical Keyboard and Precision Mouse.

The IdeaCentre AIO Y910 offers a new take on the all-in-one (AIO) form. The PC is designed to fit conveniently in places where bulkier PC can’t. Built entirely within a 27-inch Quad High Definition (2560×1440) borderless display, it cuts down on the hardware and cables that clutter traditional towers – without cutting down on game performance.

The game-ready device can also be equipped with NVIDIA’s latest GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 460 graphics, up to 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, and up to 2TB HDD or up to 256GB SSD. The IdeaCentre AIO Y910 is simple to set up and ready to play right out of the box. It’s adaptable, too – an easily detachable back panel allows for one-step access to the AIO’s core components, allowing for quick and easy upgrades for the increasing number of gamers – nearly 50 percent – who like to continually tweak their systems. Twin 5W Harman Kardon stereo speakers are also available on the device. The Killer DoubleShot Pro Wi-Fi is also available via the computer. The ultra-thin display features a 144Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time.
