Allied Trailer, Robert Zemeckis and Brad Pitt project gets a first look
Paramount Pictures has released a first-look trailer for the upcoming war drama ‘Allied,’ starring Brad Pitt. The film follows the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.
The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis, working off a script written by Steven Knight. Joining Pitt in the film will be Marion Cotillard, Lizzy Caplan and Matthew Goode. The film was produced by Graham King (“RANGO,” “THE DEPARTED”), who developed the project, alongside Zemeckis and Steve Starkey (“FLIGHT,” “REAL STEEL”). The story will be produced through King’s GK Films banner with Jack Rapke (“FLIGHT,” “REAL STEEL”), Knight, Patrick McCormick (“BLACK MASS”) and Denis O’Sullivan (“THE 5thWAVE,” THE YOUNG VICTORIA”) serving as executive producers.
Zemeckis’ credits at Paramount Pictures include the 1994 blockbuster “FORREST GUMP,” for which he won the Academy Award for Best Director. The groundbreaking film grossed $677 million worldwide and won six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor for star Tom Hanks. In 2012, the studio and Zemeckis partnered on the critically-lauded, live-action thriller “FLIGHT,” which starred Denzel Washington and received two Academy Award nominations. Zemeckis was also behind the popular film “THE WALK,” starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. That film was released back in October 2015. Fans can check out the official trailer that was released today by Paramount Pictures below, thanks to an early morning upload from the studio.
King and Knight are also partnered on the action-thriller “THE RED CIRCLE,” a remake of the classic French film “LE CERCLE ROUGE” reset in Hong Kong. Knight wrote the script and King is producing under GK Films. Pitt recently starred in “Fury” from Sony Pictures, he also starred in “By the Sea,” and “The Audition”.
Allied will hit theatres November 23, 2016.
