Star Wars Rebels season 3 trailer promises new adventures, new characters
Disney released a brand new “Star Wars Rebels” trailer, which debuted at Star Wars Celebration Europe this week. The trailer has a lot of teasers to unpack, and revealed a few hints of what’s to come in the hit series’ third season.
The trailer also introduces new characters, one being Grand Admiral Thrawn of Star Wars Legends voiced by “House of Cards” Lars Mikkelsen — and Bendu, an ancient and powerful new character voiced by classic “Doctor Who” actor Tom Baker. The trailer also signaled a much larger leadership role for the series’ rebel firebrand, Sabine Wren, played by Tiya Sircar, whose Mandalorian roots will also be further explored.
Star Wars Rebels continues the Star Wars saga with stories set between the events of Star Wars Episodes III and IV. Season 1 begins during a dark time when the evil Galactic Empire is tightening its grip of power on the galaxy. Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet and are ruining the lives of its people. The motley but clever crew of the starship Ghost — cowboy Jedi Kanan, ace pilot Hera, street-smart teenager Ezra, the “muscle” Zeb, warrior firebrand Sabine, and cantankerous old astromech droid Chopper — is among a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Disney teased the new trailer saying, “Get your first look at the new season of Star Wars Rebels, featuring the return of characters both new and familiar from both sides of the rebellion. ”
Fans have shared two seasons with the ragtag crew, all of which have grown into their own as they take on the Empire. “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 will debut this fall on Disney XD.
