Disney is currently dominating the box-office with “Finding Dory,” but another one of its former hits is ready to tackle the home box-office charts. Disney confirmed the release date for the hit “The Jungle Book,” which will arrive on Digital HD August 23rd & Blu-ray Aug 30th. The film will also release on Disney’s “Disney Anywhere” platform.
The live-action adventure will launch just as summer is wrapping up, fans can then venture deep into the jungle with in-depth bonus features and other new content.
The Jungle Book was another astounding success from Disney’s live-action franchise. The film has earned more than $911 million at the global box office to date. The project was a hit with both critics and fans, the film was directed by Jon Favreau. The Jungle Book will also release on Disney Movies Anywhere on August 23, so set a reminder if you need to. Disney’s “The Jungle Book” was directed by Jon Favreau, working off a script written by Justin Marks. The film is based on the original works of Rudyard Kipling. Neel Sethi stars in the film; while Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Wyong’o, Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson lend their voices to the CGI cast.
The Blu-ray version is available for pre-order on popular retail sites like Amazon.com. Disney’s next live-action project scheduled to hit theaters is Beauty and the Beast, which has been generating a lot of buzz from Disney fans since it was announced last year.
