BioShock The Collection brings remastered versions to PS4, Xbox One and PC
After a few weeks of rumors, 2K and Irrational Games have officially announced a new “BioShock: The Collection” release. The remastered versions of the popular games will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC later this fall.
The hit titles can certainly use a makeover for a new generation, the series has been around for quite a while at this point. The original Bioshock introduced the city of Rapture almost 10 years ago, and it has been three years since the franchise released a major title. This new Complete edition will mark the first release of all three installments on next-gen consoles.
The publisher confirmed today that BioShock: The Collection will launch on September 13, 2016 in the U.S. (September 15 in Australia and September 16 internationally).
The project was completed through a partnership between Blind Squirrel Games, 2K remastered BioShock and BioShock 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and BioShock Infinite for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The games will come complete with all the single-player DLC that was previously released for the titles, as well as a “never-before-seen video series.” That video series contains “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock,” which includes insights from Ken Levine. The collection will release with an MSRP of $59.99.
Fans of the series can see the new remastering of the game in the video released this morning. The collection will launch this September.
