It was reported earlier this month that FOX would be recasting the role of Poison Ivy in the popular series “Gotham” to an older actress, and now the studio has made it official. The FOX drama will add Maggie Geha to the cast, she will be replacing Claire Foley as the iconic DC villain Poison Ivy.
The star will begin her role on “Gotham” in season 3, though some fans may be sad to hear that Maggie Geha is replacing the current Poison Ivy. As Geha replaces Claire Foley, the child actress who currently played the role of Ivy Pepper during the show’s first two seasons, Foley’s fans will be left in the dark. Foley’s portrayal of the odd, but very likable, young-Ivy went over well with most fans when she was introduced in the story. It will be a shame to see her leave the series.
It’s not too surprising that FOX found an extremely attractive redhead to play the role, which has been the go-to casting standard for Poison Ivy for some time now. With that said, it’s a shame to see Foley’s rendition of the character leaver the series so early. In the new season, which will be the third in the popular FOX series, Ivy Pepper will be closer to becoming the iconic Poison Ivy character from the comics. Ivy will be a 19 year-old in the series now, and will be setting her charms on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).

GOTHAM follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. “Gotham” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox and will return for Season 3 on Sept. 19.
