This week Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures hosted the premiere of their new film “Warcraft”. The summer blockbuster is an epic adventure based on Blizzard Entertainment’s global phenomenon video-game.
The premiere was filled with spectacle, including siege towers, a parade of knights and fans by the hundreds clammering for a picture with their favorite star. Even with all of the commotion, it was Jamie Lee Curtis’ apparently homemade cosplay that drew the most attention. It was a fantastic site, and one that should win any best-dressed list of the evening. It was great to see such a popular actor just enjoying their time at the event, instead of just getting seen or promoting their next project. You can checkout Curtis’ cosplay attempt in the video below from the event.
As for the film itself, the story focuses on the peaceful realm of Azeroth, which stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders. That force is made up of Orc warrior, who are fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. The studio teases the film stating, “So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.”
Starring in the film are Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. Warcraft was directed By Duncan Jones and produced by Charles Roven, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Alex Gartner Stuart Fenegan. The project was executive produced by Jillian Share, Brent O’Connor, Mike Morhaime and Paul Sams.
